Shelbynet vs Testnet
⚠️
Testnet is retiring Monday, August 3, 2026, 12:00 PDT. After that time, testnet data on this dashboard is frozen at its last-known state — no new data will be collected. Shelbynet is unaffected and remains the primary, live network.
| Shelbynet | Testnet | |
|---|---|---|
| Status | Primary, live | Retiring Aug 3, 2026 |
| Node REST auth | No Authorization header (401s if sent) | Requires Authorization: Bearer |
| Blob preview | Supported (Public blobs) | Not supported |
| Content gateway | *.shelbynet.shelby.xyz pattern | api.testnet.shelby.xyz/shelby/v1/blobs/{owner}/{blob_name} (not a symmetric rename) |
Both networks are tracked through the same pipeline shape — a geo-sync job per network
feeding TimescaleDB — but the two implementations have some deliberate and some
historical differences. If you notice numbers that look inconsistent between the two
networks' pages, it's worth checking whether it's a known, disclosed difference (like the
ones above) before assuming it's a bug.
